When I paint, I don’t just depict what I see; I translate what I feel.
Anyone can copy a subject with perfect accuracy, like a mirror, but a painting without feeling is lifeless. The soul of art for me is in the pulse beneath each stroke—every experience, every joy, every struggle flows through me.
When I pick up the brush, it feels as if my entire life runs through my veins, traveling into each color, each line. Painting is not about capturing a scene; it is about capturing a feeling.
And yet, for me, painting is the opposite of silversmithing. In silversmithing, I must summon strength, striking the metal with a hammer. But in painting, I must be gentle; I must let my feelings transform themselves with tenderness, as if each brushstroke is a soft breath of life.
